Our Natural World

A youth exchange for 42 participants built entirely around outdoor learning. Participants deepen their understanding of outdoor education as a method and develop the communication, teamwork, problem-solving and planning skills to use it in their own youth work.

Why this project

Outdoor learning is a powerful method for personal development and intercultural understanding, but many youth workers and educators are unfamiliar with it and lack the skills to incorporate it into their practice.

Objectives

• Deepen young people's understanding of outdoor learning as a method.
• Develop communication, team building, problem-solving and planning skills.
• Promote intercultural understanding and active citizenship.
• Support personal growth, mental well-being and connection with nature.

Activities

• A youth exchange with 42 participants across six countries.
• Outdoor learning activities, challenges and sports.
• Reflection and competence-recognition sessions.
• Intercultural learning and dissemination activities.

Expected results

These are the results the project set out to produce. They are commitments made in the application, not outcomes already achieved.

• 42 young people able to apply outdoor learning techniques in youth work.
• Strengthened transversal competences among participants.
• Increased active youth participation in partner organisations.
• Shared outdoor learning practice across the partnership.
