Youth Rescue Squad

Youth Rescue Squad equips young people with the competencies to respond to climate extremes and positions them as active mitigators rather than bystanders. The project combines e-learning, mentor training, a resilience-building camp and youth-led consultations with local crisis management structures.

Why this project

Climate extremes are increasingly affecting European communities, yet young people are rarely prepared or involved in local crisis response and prevention.

Objectives

• Equip young people with knowledge and skills to respond effectively to climate crises.
• Promote local youth engagement in crisis management and the EU's green transition.
• Build an international knowledge-sharing network on response and prevention practices.
• Raise awareness of the need for climate change preparedness.

Activities

• Creation, piloting and release of an e-learning course on climate resilience.
• Mentor training workshop and a resilience-building camp.
• Resilience consultation sessions and youth-led resilience rallies.
• International study visit and an international conference.
