Beyond Tokenism: Youth Leading Inclusion

Beyond Tokenism moves youth organisations from symbolic diversity to genuine inclusion. The partnership builds practical tools, an Inclusion Index Calculator, an educational toolkit and an eLearning platform, and asks organisations to commit publicly through an Authentic Inclusion Declaration.

Why this project

Youth organisations across Europe increasingly recognise the value of diversity, but inclusion is often reduced to representation without influence, young people are present but not heard.

Objectives

• Combat tokenism by promoting genuine inclusion in youth organisations.
• Strengthen organisational capacity and raise awareness of tokenistic practice.
• Develop digital tools and educational materials supporting authentic inclusion.
• Establish an international network and lasting commitments to diversity across Europe.

Activities

• Development of digital tools including the Inclusion Index Calculator.
• Creation of educational materials and an eLearning platform.
• Awareness workshops, pilot workshops and local community events.
• Study visits, an international network and a final conference.
