GreenSkills Connect: Bridging VET and the Green Sector

GreenSkills Connect closes the gap between vocational education and the needs of the green economy. The partnership researches the skills mismatch, builds a new VET curriculum with micro-learning resources, and trains VET teachers and trainers to deliver it.

Why this project

Youth unemployment remains high in Spain and Serbia, while green-sector employers report that vocational graduates lack the specific skills they need. VET curricula have not kept pace with the green transition.

Objectives

• Analyse the mismatch between VET provision and green-sector skill needs.
• Create an innovative VET curriculum for green skills with detailed lesson plans.
• Strengthen the capacity of VET teachers and trainers.
• Establish new collaboration practices between business and VET centres.

Activities

• Comprehensive needs analysis combining statistical research and focus groups.
• Development of the GreenSkills Connect curriculum and lesson plans.
• Creation of digital micro-learning resources.
• Capacity-building training for VET trainers and teachers, plus advocacy and dissemination.

Expected results

These are the results the project set out to produce. They are commitments made in the application, not outcomes already achieved.

• A needs-analysis report on VET and green-business alignment.
• The GreenSkills Connect curriculum with a lesson plan for each module.
• Digital micro-learning resources and a project web page.
• An online campaign reaching at least 30,000 people and an advocacy campaign reaching over 50 stakeholders.
