ThinkWise.AI: Don't just click, always think
ThinkWise.AI brings responsible use of artificial intelligence and critical thinking into STEM classrooms in three secondary schools in Poland, Türkiye and Italy, with PILCROW as the non-formal education partner. The project produces a STEM and AI Teaching Guide for teachers and a reflective chatbot for students, and aims to improve the AI literacy and critical thinking of 1,000 students and 200 teachers through four international mobilities, local activities, webinars and an eTwinning project.
Why this project
Students use generative AI daily, often without stopping to question what it tells them. Schools need a practical way to teach reflection and ethics alongside the technology.
Objectives
- Improve the AI literacy and critical thinking skills of 1,000 students from three partner schools by at least 20%, measured through pre- and post-project assessments.
- Raise the AI awareness of 200 teachers to 60% proficiency, measured through training evaluations.
- Ensure that at least half of the trained teachers apply the AI-supported STEM approach in their lessons within a year of the project's end.
Activities
- Four international mobilities, one of them blended and hosted by PILCROW in Spain, where students co-create and test the reflective chatbot.
- Three local activities, one in each partner school, following the transnational mobilities.
- Two online activities: a World STEM Day webinar and an ErasmusDays webinar.
- An eTwinning project connecting the partner schools with other European classrooms.
- Continuous evaluation and dissemination.
Expected results
These are the results the project set out to produce. They are commitments made in the application, not outcomes already achieved.
- STEM and AI Teaching Guide (ThinkWise.AI Guide) for teachers.
- AI-supported reflective chatbot for students.
- At least 1,000 students with improved critical thinking and responsible AI use, and 200 teachers with stronger AI-related pedagogical competence.
- Sustainable, inclusive and reflective AI-supported STEM practices embedded in the partner schools.
