RomaRights kicks off in Berlin

On 1 and 2 September 2026, the partner organisations of RomaRights met in Berlin to launch the project, with Amaro Drom e.V. as coordinator. RomaRights brings together organisations from Germany, Romania, Serbia, Italy, Slovakia and Spain that work together to fight antigypsyism. Over these two days we got to know each other, aligned on our goals and planned the next two years of work with Roma communities.

What is RomaRights?

RomaRights (“Roma Rights in Action: Combating Antigypsyism through Artificial Intelligence and Community Empowerment”) is a free, multilingual, open-source artificial intelligence assistant. It is designed for Roma people who face discrimination, so they can report incidents and generate a report to submit to the bodies, institutions and organisations that can support them, together with an explanation of their rights in plain language.

The project combines this technology with direct work with communities. It also aims to build and strengthen a network of organisations that use the tool and have more resources to prevent and respond to discrimination.
